Rage Room And Smash Room

According to Cambridge Dictionary:

therapy is a treatment that helps someone feel better, grow stronger…. especially after an illness.

Most individuals need therapy after experiencing a dreadful moment in their lives, some go to therapy because of the overwhelming occurrences in their personal space. Normal therapy involves a therapist and a patient going through the emotions by the use of conversations. This means people can share with others of what was said and what they found to be helpful during their therapy sessions.

In contrary to the normal therapy we know there is another form called Smash Therapy, at Smash therapy people breakdown glasses, televisions and furniture with a sledgehammer. They can even throw paintballs to relieve stress. This is used as a form of relieving stress and anger more especially bottled up anger. Sometimes it could be childhood trauma or anger that came with losing a loved one.

Rage room is a place where you can go and take out all the anger you have by breaking and smashing objects.

In south Africa we have Rage Rooms in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban. As this was started in the United stated most people are not familiar with this form of therapy.

People can smash and break things to experience release from stress and anxieties. People pay to enter smash or anger rooms to break fragile objects such as mirrors, glasses, guitars, bottles, plates, gadgets, appliances, and the like.

Perhaps if this form of therapy could be accessible to everyone, there would be a lot of happy families and it could possibly help people deal with their childhood trauma without having to sit down and talk about it.

Anger is a dangerous form of emotion if kept inside for a long time, it could turn a nice person into a monster, smashing it out might be an option.
