Matatiele Local Municipality Mayor, Councillor Sonwabile Mngenela, is set to deliver the State of the Municipality Address on May 23rd, 2024, at Pamlaville in Ward 07. This address provides a crucial platform for communities and strategic stakeholders to engage directly with government, fostering collaboration and collective planning.
The initiative seeks to report back to communities on various service delivery initiatives, outlining progress and challenges. It also aims to mobilize communities and stakeholders to partner with the Municipality in driving development in Matatiele over the next five years, aligning with the District Development Model (DDM).
As part of the programme, all government departments will provide services on wheels, ensuring accessible and convenient service delivery. For transport arrangements, residents can contact their Ward Councillors, Ward Support Assistants, Community Development Workers (CDWs), and Ward Committees.
This engagement platform demonstrates the Municipality’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and community-centric governance. By working together, the Municipality and communities can fast-track the provision of basic services and drive development in Matatiele.
