Ingwe TVET College Students Demand Clarity on Funding Amid Ongoing Strike

Students at Ingwe TVET College’s SITETO Campus in Bizana have entered the third week of a strike, seeking answers regarding their funding status. Despite repeated attempts to engage with authorities, including NSFAS, the bursary clerk, and Narocco Transact, students have yet to receive satisfactory responses or see any changes in their circumstances.

Multiple submissions of personal details have yielded no results, leaving students frustrated and uncertain about their academic futures. The strike has disrupted exams for some students, who were instructed to return home until the issues are resolved. Despite promises of communication from the college, students report receiving no updates or explanations regarding their blocked accounts and NSFAS funding discrepancies.

Adding to their grievances, students highlight the impact of missed lectures on exam preparation, with many struggling to study amidst the ongoing uncertainty. Despite their readiness for the upcoming elections, students feel sidelined by the lack of transparency and accountability from the college administration and relevant authorities.

Efforts to obtain feedback from the bursary clerk, service provider, and college spokesperson have been unsuccessful, leaving students in limbo as they await resolution to their pressing concerns.
