As Easter approached, Cynthia Nene, a Mrs. Bold Finalist and mother of three residing in Port Edward, took it upon herself to spread joy and happiness to the children at Mzuvukile Special Care Centre. Originally from Pietermaritzburg, Cynthia works as a marketing manager at the Wild Coast Sun.
I’m reaching out to all of you for support in making this year’s Easter unforgettable for these incredible children. We are collecting donations of Easter eggs to create magical moments and sweet memories. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a world of difference to these children. Let’s come together and spread love, joy, and happiness this Easter, – Cynthia expressed.
Representing the Transkei Sun board members, Mr. Magidela commended Cynthia’s initiative, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and education for all children. “All children should learn. There is not even one child who is unable to learn,” he asserted. He also encouraged strengthening working relationships between local authorities and the community.
Melisa Nontshe, the current Miss Bizana High Schools from Mount Zion locality, echoed Mr. Magidela’s sentiments, expressing her appreciation for Cynthia Nene’s efforts in valuing and supporting disabled individuals.
During the Easter drive, the excitement was palpable as Cynthia distributed toys, sweets, and the biggest Easter Egg amongst other goodies. “Being part of Mrs. Bold South Africa, I decided to adopt Mzuvukile Special School, and I wish for the students here to grow and become better people in the future,” Cynthia shared.
Cynthia’s efforts were supported by contributions from Barcelos, Super Tech, and other companies, demonstrating the collective commitment to inclusivity and care for these children. “These kids should be treated equally like other kids as they deserve love, care, and warmth,” Cynthia emphasized.
Looking ahead, Cynthia expressed her desire to continue supporting Mzuvukile Special School, regardless of the outcome of the Mrs. Bold South Africa competition scheduled for October. “Whether I get crowned at Mrs. Bold South Africa or not, I wish to continue doing good and visit the school again,” she affirmed.
The principal of Mzuvukile Special School extended words of gratitude for Cynthia’s visit, highlighting the excitement and appreciation expressed by the learners. “I am grateful to the employees of the school as much as we do not get paid to work at the school,” the principal remarked.
As Cynthia Nene prepares for the Mrs. Bold South Africa competition in October, her commitment to making a positive impact in her community serves as an inspiration to all. Through her actions, she exemplifies the spirit of compassion, kindness, and inclusivity, leaving a lasting impression on the lives of those she touches.
