The People of KwaZulu-Natal making their way to Moses Mabhida Stadium ahead of the #EFFManifestoLaunch

As anticipation mounts for the Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) manifesto launch, thousands of enthusiastic supporters from KwaZulu-Natal and beyond are making their way to Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. Despite initial concerns over security threats, the eThekwini municipality has given the green light for the event, ensuring that the iconic stadium will be painted red in anticipation of the EFF’s electoral agenda.

Tensions escalated following controversial remarks made by former SABC radio personality Ngizwe Mchunu, who warned against EFF leader Julius Malema’s presence at the venue. Nevertheless, the municipality has remained steadfast in its commitment to facilitating a safe and secure environment for all attendees.

With the EFF poised to unveil its manifesto on Saturday, the stadium is bracing for a surge in political activity, with upcoming events scheduled by the African National Congress (ANC) and the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP). Metro police spokesperson Col Boysie Zungu emphasized the paramount importance of ensuring safety throughout the proceedings, highlighting measures such as effective traffic control and enforcement of bylaws to maintain order and protect participants.

As the stage is set for the EFF’s manifesto launch, all eyes are on Moses Mabhida Stadium, where political fervor and security vigilance converge in anticipation of a historic event.
