The Economic Development Fund (EDF) kicked off its twelve (12) month mentorship programme in Finance and HR Management at the GCIS in Pretoria. The beneficiaries of the fund are start-up black-owned SMMEs in the media and advertising industry. The media owners were inducted into the mentorship programme with a gap analysis session marking the beginning of their year long journey of business support.

The session was facilitated by Tachfin Holdings which aims to identify Finance and HR obstacles faced by the organisations and to create customised and relevant interventions that will equip the businesses to develop systems and compete effectively in the media and advertising industry.

Quan Dambuza, Publishing Editor of Pondoland Times said,

I started the weekly newspaper in 2021. My business is still at infancy stage. This mentorship programme is a blessing to me as I am looking for systems that will strengthen my business. To have accessibility to such experts will be a great benefit to the Bizana rural community.

The session introduced participants to the key requirements, expectations and benefits of the 12 month long formal mentor-mentee relationship.
