In a press statement issued by Princess Stella Sigcau II, Ms Zandile Dlamini from Ntabankulu who underwent Princess Stella Sigcau II Skills Development Initiative has been selected for training offered by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency to enhance further entrepreneurship skills. The training is from the 10th-14th of October 2022. This in turn is believed to give her the opportunity to exhibit her products to an international market.
Upon completion of the training in October, Ms Dlamini is expected to come back with skills that would empower her to make a difference to herself and to others in her community as well as enhance her entrepreneurship initiative.
According to the statement Princess Stella Sigcau II Skills Development Initiative which is a programme under the AmaMpondo Heritage Foundation founded by Princess Stella Sigcau II, was launched on the 6th of September 2022. The initiative which led to the training of women and youth from the 6th-9th of September in various parts of the Mpondo Kingdom namely Mbizana, Ntabankulu, Lusikisiki and Emaxesibeni.
It is reported that the main purpose of the training is to empower women and youth, fight poverty, unemployment, encourage entrepreneurship amongst others, avoid depency including financial dependency which at times leads to women becoming victims of Gender Based Violence (GBV) in the rural areas. This programme is rooted in the fight against GBV.
The statement further adds that the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (Türk Ä°ÅŸbirliÄŸi ve Koordinasyon Ajansı BaÅŸkanlığı,TÄ°KA) is responsible for the organization of the bulk of Turkey’s official development assistance to the developing countries, with a particular focus on Turkic and African countries and communities.
