Tragedy Strikes as Two Three-Year-Olds Drown in Local Dam

NGQELENI – A heartbreaking incident unfolded on Saturday, 18 November 2023, when two three-year-old children drowned while playing in a dam in the Ludaka locality.

The children reportedly encountered difficulties while in the water. A nearby child promptly alerted elders, initiating a search that tragically ended with the recovery of the two young victims later that afternoon.

An inquest docket has been opened as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. In response, police are urging parents to ensure their children do not swim in dams without proper supervision.
