Volo Da Saint the marketing and entertainment man behind Margate’s iconic ZURI, now hailed as EC’s finest house DJ grew up in a very musical family, his grandfather was a choirmaster, and his mother was a chorister, so it came naturally for him to be in music, “but as much as I can sing I chose to be a DJ because contrary to popular belief I am shy sharp hiding behind the decks is much better than hiding behind the mic.” Says Volo Da Saint
Volo believes that besides skill, one thing which is very key is “respect & humility” skill alone is not enough, in order to be successful and remain relevant you need to respect yourself first, respect your colleagues and everyone in your industry then all will fall into place. Who keeps himself up to date with the current fast-moving trends through his social media platforms. Volo is always on his phone, and you may think he is unfriendly in public spaces.
Having been on the DJ stage for more than 10 years straight, he always tries to be interactive when he is performing by infusing catchy tracks and signals. Anyone who has seen Volo Da Saint play live will attest that he has a unique style and a very wide interesting music selection coupled with a lot of experience in the game. Apart from his busy schedule, Volo Da Saint says he loves music because he gets to travel and sleep in nice places and see the beauty of our country without paying a cent. Something up-coming DJs only dream about.
Eastern Cape Tourism is quite interesting and the province offers scenic beauty. Volo is currently involved in a musical experience which does exactly that. “The Wild Coast Tour is a musical tour which in collaboration with DJ 101, we just want to explore Eastern Cape while engaging with music lovers at the same time, organizing this one particularly is easy cause we’re all working for a common goal… but generally organising events is very difficult more especially in a small town like ours where most people are not used to such events, so one has to be very careful in their approach, pick art-ists carefully, pick venues carefully and just everything, in general, has to be picked carefully,” says Volo Da Saint
