Self-proclaimed Nigerian prophet TB Joshua has made news after a BCC documentary that came out last week with multiple witnesses claiming to have been raped by the “Man of God”.
Joshua was a Nigerian Televangelist that died in 2021, with a massive audience world-wide on his online TV ‘Emanuel’ and a mega church across multiple countries. According to the witnesses, disciples and victims, Joshua had his own private room on top of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) that not even his wife, Evelyn Joshua had access to which is where he would regularly summon each of his female disciples to molest, claiming to be providing salvation for them. These allegations would be backed by male disciples who alleged that the late prophet would have them lock themselves in their bedrooms, switch the TV aloud and perform sexual immoral activities.
“One curious night, I peeped under the door and saw a lady’s feet, she knelt down before Daddy as he demanded we called him and I could tell that something sinister was going on, something sexual was happening there. Of course his wife was not around, she had no access to his room”, according to one of the male disciples named Emanuel.
Amongst some 30 females that alleged the prophet raped the was a South African born, Sihle Sihlobo who claimed that not only was the abuse sexual but also verbal and physical. Some of the people that came out with the information were his personal driver who cannot be named to protect his identity, one of his junior prophets, male and female disciples including an alleged daughter that he got outside his marriage, which according to her ordered other disciples to always physically abuse her to rid off of her evil spirit.
According to BBC, the reply from the church now being lade by the prophet’s widow Evelyn was “Making unfounded allegations against prophet TB Joshua is not a new occurrence, none of the allegations were ever substantiated. The Nigerian and international authorities have yet to issue out a statement on this matter and no formal public investigation is underway.”
