Many South Africans are still waiting for their R370 SASSA SRD grant — even after being approved. From unanswered SMSes to confusion around PayData and TymeBank, frustration is growing. In this article, Pondoland Times helps you understand why your grant may be delayed — and how to fix it.

1. Did You Change Your Phone Number?

If you changed your cellphone number and didn’t update it with SASSA, your payment confirmation or bank verification may be going to your old number.

How to fix it:

  • Visit https://srd.sassa.gov.za
  • Scroll to “How do I change my contact details”
  • Enter your ID and application details
  • Follow the prompts to update your number

⚠️ Note: This process may take a few days to reflect in the system.

2. TymeBank Sent You an SMS But No Money?

Several users report receiving an SMS saying their SRD money is available in a TymeBank account — but nothing is showing up.

This could mean:

  • You haven’t activated your TymeBank account.
  • Your SRD grant was sent, but your bank details were not fully verified.
  • SASSA is trying to pay you via TymeBank’s “money transfer” system (PayShap or SendMoney) — but your details don’t match.

What to do:

  • Visit TymeBank.co.za or download their app
  • Use your ID to check if you have an active account
  • Call their Customer Service on 0860 999 119

3. What Is PayData or Faheem Akhtar SRD?

Some users see names like “PayData” or “faheemakhtar.xyz” in comment threads or scam sites — avoid these. The only official SRD portal is https://srd.sassa.gov.za. Don’t enter your ID anywhere else.

4. Approved But Still No Payment?

This is a common issue. You may be approved for April, May, or even earlier, but no payment has been made yet. This often happens when:

  • Your banking details haven’t been verified
  • Your account is flagged for review
  • SASSA is still batching payments

How to check:

If you see “Approved” but no date, your funds haven’t been released yet.

5. How to Contact SASSA for Help

Final Tip

If you’re still stuck, consider switching to Postbank or a different account if TymeBank and your number verification continues to fail.
