The Cape Winelands-based champions, Stellenbosch, will begin their Carling Knockout defence campaign against the struggling Amazulu side in the round of 16.
Stellenbosch were crowned champions of the inaugural Carling Knockout competition on December 16, 2024, after a narrow 5 – 4 victory on penalties over TS Galaxy at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
The competition is in its second year, and it held a last-16 draw on Tuesday at the Galleria in Sandton, Johannesburg. The draw resulted in exciting matchups between animated teams.
Notable encounters include the matchup between SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs. Meanwhile, Polokwane City will host Marumo Gallants, and the Natal Rich Boys will face Sekhukhune United.
The organisers of the competition announced that the Carling Cup final between the Carling Knockout champions and the Carling Black Label All-Stars team will be played on December 21, 2024, at Orlando Stadium.
The players and head coach of the Carling Black Label All-Stars team are selected by the fans.
