Speaking to the fitness trainer of the team, Samkelo, he emphasized the significance of maintaining rigorous fitness training within the club. “The purpose of our fitness trainings is to keep the players fit because we have a big squad and we’re currently playing in a very competitive league,” he stated.
He highlighted the demanding nature of the league, which necessitates intense fitness training sessions to ensure the players remain mentally and physically prepared. “The challenging league forces us to hold intense fitness training sessions to keep the boys mentally and physically fit,” Samkelo explained.
In striving for the top position in the league, Fitness Coach Samkelo commended the players’ discipline and stressed the importance of consistency. “The secret to winning is consistency and maintaining a good working relationship with the technical team, the management, and well-experienced players, some of whom have played in the NFD and PSL,” he remarked.
“We want to stay number one in the league, with 9 games and 23 points. The aim is to win the league and represent the Eastern Cape at the playoffs in Cape Town,” Samkelo added.
Coach Noqazo expressed how recruiting a goalkeeping coach, bringing in Coach Vumani, and having a fitness coach has greatly benefited the team. “This season is a reflection of the previous one; we reinforced from the squad that we had. Additionally, we had a setback with the passing of Ntsizwa. The team had to learn to play without him,” he noted.
Determined to secure victory in the campaign, Coach Noqazo emphasized the team’s aspirations to advance to the playoffs in Cape Town.
