This massive two days tournament was held in Bizana sports ground (Emabhanoyini) on the 25th of June 2022 to the 26th June 2022 for the first time in three years as it was last held in 2018 December due to the Covid-19 pandemic, football has also experienced a great loss as this tournament is known as a huge tournament in the province of Eastern Cape and in South Africa as a whole in terms of the number of clubs participating which was 53 this time dropping down from 64.

This is marked as a grand return of this tournament with new sponsors, new objectives, brighter future and a promising tomorrow, especially for under 19 clubs or players I must say, as the June tournament will strictly focus on them as of next year, going forth and be open to the rest during December since it is going to be held twice a year, this was revealed by Mr Lundi Mgwili from M-Parent a company which is the new main sponsor of the tournament partnering with SAFA, during his speech Mr Mgwili went on and argued the clubs to focus more to the June tournament than the December one as the main aim of it is to show case the talent while the players are yet not signed with the clubs, to open more opportunities for them.

Mr Mgwili went on and said “What we are trying to do is to bridge the gap between the boys with talent so that there should be no difference between the boy from the rural Bizana and one from Gauteng”

He also expressed his gratitude to Mr Gusha SAFA president of Alfred Nzo district And Mr Tshabalala their PR Person for their great work in making this tournament a success “it’s a good relationship, we get along and we communicate often” he said.

The boys have made a name for themselves as they are being noticed after beating Pondo City FC on penalties (4-3), after playing 1-1 draw in 90 minutes. This is a huge achievement with a great experience for Scorpion FC since they had a chance to compete against clubs from the upper leagues such as Thohoyandou FC, Sinenkani  FC, etc. and still produce the Player of the tournament ( Sibahle Qalaba) as well as the goal keeper of the tournament (Azile Qalaba). This unanticipated was witnessed by the Honourable M. Mafumbatha of Winnie Mdikizela Mandela Municipality who was so taken by an unusual performance of an athlete with disability ( Mr Ndabeni  Sibonelo A.K.A Ngoja) who has one arm, along with the MEC Nkomonye (DESRAC EC) to mention the few. Winning this battle for Scorpion FC reveals their readiness for the next season, besides taking 20 000 home that day.
