Beneficiaries of the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) R370 grant can now conveniently check their payment status and application progress online through two dedicated platforms: statuschecksrd.co.za and srdsassagov.co.za. These websites have been launched to help millions of South Africans stay updated on their grant status without having to visit SASSA offices.
The SRD grant, increased from R350 to R370 in April 2024, continues to provide critical support to unemployed South Africans aged 18 to 59 who are not receiving any other form of social assistance. With millions relying on this grant each month, online tracking tools have become essential.
To check your status, applicants can visit either of the websites and enter their ID number and phone number used during registration. The platforms display information such as application outcome, payment dates, bank verification status, and whether any action is required to avoid delays.
SASSA has urged beneficiaries to use these platforms regularly to ensure they are aware of any issues affecting their payments and to verify whether they need to update their banking details or appeal a declined application.
Both platforms are mobile-friendly, making it easier for users in rural and under-connected areas to access vital information with low data usage.
These systems form part of the broader effort by the Department of Social Development to improve transparency, reduce queues at SASSA offices, and ensure timely communication with beneficiaries.
