The community of Xhora filled the Manzibomvu Community Hall in Mbhashe Local Municipality as the Regional Executive Manager hosted an Integrated Community Registration Outreach Programme (ICROP) on 26 November 2025. SASSA, together with several government departments and stakeholders, delivered on-site services to residents who have long struggled to access support.
High Demand for Services
Long queues formed throughout the day, underscoring the community’s urgent need for government services a reality previously confirmed by a Human Rights Commission report released in November 2023.
Life-Changing Outcomes
For many residents, the visit brought real relief. Outcome letters were issued on the spot, with clear expected payment dates, offering hope and certainty for households that rely on social support.
Bringing Government Closer
The outreach forms part of government’s ongoing effort to improve access to essential services in rural communities, ensuring that people no longer travel long distances or incur extra costs to receive help.
