Residents of KwaMasakala Village in Ward 3, Matatiele, received various forms of assistance this week during an Integrated Community Registration Outreach Programme (ICROP) led by SASSA and the Department of Social Development.

The outreach programme was attended by Eastern Cape MEC for Social Development Bukiwe Fanta and Matatiele Mayor Councillor Stuurman, alongside various government departments and stakeholders.

During the visit, school uniforms were distributed to 61 learners from two local schools, while elderly residents received 10 food parcels and 10 blankets. A total of 300 dignity packs were also handed over to learners at Masakala Senior Secondary School.

Government departments and stakeholders also provided on-site services to community members as part of efforts to improve access to social support services in rural areas.
