The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the official grant payment dates for July 2025, with millions of beneficiaries set to receive their funds from Tuesday, 2 July.
Grant recipients are strongly advised not to rush to collection points on the first day, as the funds will remain safely available in their accounts.
Confirmed SASSA Grant Payment Dates for July 2025:
- Older Persons Grant: Tuesday, 2 July 2025
- Disability Grant: Wednesday, 3 July 2025
- Children’s Grant: Thursday, 4 July 2025
Payments for the remaining grants — including Foster Child Grant, Care Dependency, Grant-in-Aid, War Veterans, and the R370 SRD grant — will begin from Monday, 7 July 2025, with SRD beneficiaries receiving payments in phases based on their selected payment method.
Where to Collect SASSA Grants?
SASSA grants can be collected using:
- SASSA Gold Cards at ATMs
- Major supermarkets: Shoprite, Checkers, Usave, Boxer, Pick n Pay, and Spar
- Direct bank deposits (for SRD and selected grants)
Grant recipients are urged to avoid long queues by choosing quieter days and safer, convenient collection locations.

“There is no need to withdraw cash on the first day,” SASSA said. “Your money will remain in your account until you need it.”
