According to Eskom, rolling blackouts will be lowered to stage 3 starting at 5 a.m. on Monday. Starting at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, it will be downgraded to stage 2, where it will stay until Friday.

It is expected that the dam levels at the pump storage systems would be entirely restored by Monday morning, according to Eskom, who claims that adequate progress has been achieved in restoring the emergency generation reserves.

Rolling blackouts in Stage 4 will continue until Monday at 5 a.m. Sikonathi Mantshantsha, an Eskom spokesperson, claims that enough progress has been made in repairing the emergency generation reserve.

Eskom claims to have 5 431MW now in planned maintenance. Eskom stated that it will hold a media briefing on Monday to update the public on the state of the power system even though an additional 15 760MW of capacity is now unavailable due to breakdowns. South Africans are urged by Eskom to keep using electricity responsibly.
