NEWLY CROWNED MISS LUSIKISIKI 2021, Asisipho believes that she is where she is today because of her past experiences and changing her mistakes would be changing the lessons she learned.

Born in a family of four Asisipho Nkqayini hails from Port St Johns in a small village called Dangwana. She mentions that when growing up her parents made sure that they teach them all the basics and all the necessities.

Asisipho’s biggest influence is her mother, a great example of a God-fearing woman who is kind, compassionate and understanding. Watching Miss South Africa and Toddlers and Tiaras inspired her to embark on modelling.

“My biggest challenge is dealing with my insecurities, because of growing up in a society where models were only petite and tall, but I’m still working on that,” she explains. She adds that she wants to be remembered as an intelligent, courageous, loving woman and a woman who teaches by being, just like the famous American poet Maya Angelou.

One of the lessons she learned while she was contesting at MISS LUSIKISIKI 2021 is that one shouldn’t be shaken by negative comments. They are only meant to pull us backwards and demote progress, we should just trust the process and stay true to ourselves.

After receiving backlash from the audience when asked how she dealt with criticism or how would she advise another person to handle unfavourable judgment, Asisipho says: “I won’t lie and say the criticism never got me, but I took my Miss Lusikisiki organizers words, I remained unshaken! Just like a true Queen and silent. A wise man once said don’t be distracted by criticism remember the only taste of success some people have is when they take a bite out of you.” She adds that everyone battling with criticism out there should remain positive! Let people talk, they always do whether you are doing good or bad. You’ve worked so hard to be shaken by someone’s negative comment, people who also have their own lives, setbacks and weaknesses. REMAIN UNSHAKEN AND TRUST THE PROCESS!
