Having lost some and won some did not stop Zizipho Ntlangano from believing in her purpose and throughout the journey, it made her face all her weaknesses head-on and became a much better version of herself than she was before she started contesting in beauty pageantry.
LUSIKISIKI-BORN MULTI-CROWN HOLDER Zizipho Ntlangano(22), believes that pageantry modeling is a phenomenal platform that grooms a person to be a better version of themselves, and it’s one of the initiatives that are set to channel one’s inner spark and the inspiration that is needed.
The young lady who is determined, socially, and open-minded describes herself as a naturally shy and very reserved person who tends to confuse the public on how she usually copes in pageantry as it always requires one to be the center of attention.
When I’m on stage I usually experience panic episodes but as soon as I take my first stride everything passes. I am not an attention seeker but being on stage makes me happy and free, free from all worries and insecurities. – she explains excitedly.
Zizipho describes pageantry as a tool for change in our communities, through charity work and dialogues about social issues that are mainly faced by 122the youth as it causes a greater impact in our communities.
Beauty pageantry is not only about smiling and catwalk, but that’s also actually a bonus of it all. There’s a finalist period where you must prove your worth as to why should you be trusted with the crown. – she says.
The Miss Superior Queen South Africa- Eastern Cape Queen title holder advocates for high-quality Public Education for all, in which quality education enables people to develop all their attributes and skills to achieve their potential as human beings and members of society. “I believe that the more awareness you have, the more choices you must create or respond to the circumstances of life, and no matter where you are you deserve a high-quality education,” – she says.
She adds that to exercise this advocacy she has already started with her initiative in July 2022 which is “SIZOFUNDA NGENKANI” a primary school-based movement that aims to educate and help children navigate their way around the social issues we face every day and provide them with school necessities to help them stay in class comfortable like other learners.
“I believe it’s high time we as a society understand that beauty comes in different forms, shapes, and shades. We grew up believing that beauty is measured by the models we usually see in magazines, but beauty is what is inside a person, their heart, mindset, morals, and actions are what makes a person beautiful.”
I would like to express my gratitude to people from my hometown “Lusikisiki” who have contributed greatly to my modeling career. Every time I turn to them for support, they respond without hesitation, and I can confidently state that their kind hearts are what made me who I am today, – she concludes.
