The Royal family has resolved that Ndlunkulu Nobandla Sigcau act as Queen of the amaMpondo nation until further decisions and deliberations are made.
The Royal family (i.e the relevant Royal Houses) mandated with the identification of a successor to the position of the King in the Mpondo Kingdom as per Mpondo custom met on the 5 July 2022 at Ndimakude Great Place, Esiphaqeni, Mpondo Kingdom to discuss the state of the Kingship post the passing of the late King Zanozuko Tyelovuyo Sigcau.
The Royal family has resolved that Ndlunkulu Nobandla Sigcau, the mother of the late King Zanozuko Tyelovuyo Sigcau act as Queen of the amaMpondo nation until further decisions and deliberations are made in this regard. Her appointment is in accordance to (Amendment of Section 14 of Act 41 of 2003) of the Traditional Leadership Governance and Framework Amendment Act. The relevant government offices will be notified through official channels.
The Royal Family pledges full support for the Acting Queen and wishes her success in presiding over the affairs of the nation working together with the necessary structures including the Royal Council and the Kings Council prioritising the interests amaMpondo. The Royal Family calls for calmness , unity and peace within the Mpondo nation so that the vision of the departed King Zanozuko Tyelovuyo Sigcau of a prosperous, progressive and united Mpondo nation is realized.
