MTHATHA — A high-level meeting on 18 December 2025 has triggered the start of an urgent action plan to improve operations at Mthatha Airport. The plan follows sustained complaints from the public over limited flights, high ticket prices and poor services.

The meeting involved the MEC for Transport, the Executive Mayor of O.R. Tambo District Municipality, and senior officials. It resulted in a formal shift from discussions to action, according to the Municipality.
