A group of local men, known as “Man to Men,” has launched an initiative to provide a safe space for men to openly discuss issues affecting their lives. The event aims to encourage men to come together, share their challenges, and collectively find solutions.
According to the group’s Chairperson, Mluleki Xantibe, the initiative was driven by the recognition that many men in the community face significant challenges but lack platforms to express their emotions and concerns.
We realized that men often don’t have spaces to talk about what they’re going through, which makes it difficult for them to deal with their struggles, – Xantibe explained.
Last year, the group held a similar gathering, which was well-received. Inspired by that success, they are hosting this year’s event on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Mountain Lake Dam. Xantibe urged men from across the region to take part, highlighting the importance of seizing this opportunity to engage openly.
He expressed hope that the event would once again provide a constructive environment for men to address issues affecting their mental and emotional well-being.
