His wife encouraged him to continue designing his clothing brand where he left. The name of the brand came jokingly as it started from promoters who would book him to deejay in their events.” Whoever booked me to come play music in their events I would ask them if they have equalizers because I believe it balances the sound”. Since then promoters started calling him Equalizer, and he would see posters with his face written Equalizer. His fans also started calling him Equalizer and it became his name, as many people and his fans only know him to be Equalizer.
Yanga’s fans inspired him to start his own clothing brand. Yanga says at first he thought he’s making clothes for himself, not knowing that people will be interested in them and want to buy from him. ”I decided to make more and sell to them instead, I started designing my clothing brand in 2019 but then Covid-19 happened, production was put on hold since then”.
Equalizer clothing is designed for everyone who is interested in the brand, it is for everyone who wants comfortable clothing. The name is neutral and targeting all genders. Yanga sees his brand growing, so it can also hire people with means to try and decrease the unemployment rate in his hometown. This brand produces quality and affordable clothes.
