On Wednesday, the Winnie Madikizela Mandela Local Municipality awarded contracts to six contractors tasked with constructing access roads in various areas of Mbizana. The Mayor and his Executive Councilors visited six wards to formally introduce the contractors who are expected to enhance the quality of local roads.

In Ward 15, a gathering at Makhosonke Hall marked the introduction of LG Construction, which will build the Mhlabomnyama to Makhalweni Access Road and a bridge, covering a distance of 1.5 kilometers.

Ward 30 hosted a meeting at Nyanisweni School, where MVI Construction was assigned to construct the 5.4-kilometer Nyanisweni Access Road.

In Ward 27, the African Church in Qungebe served as the venue for the introduction of Siti Cargo, which will build the 3-kilometer Cabhane to Kristu Access Road.

Ward 26’s meeting in Sunnyside welcomed Masilo Project JV Castle Hill Trading, set to build the 5-kilometer Sunnyside Access Road.

In Ward 17, at Sibonda in Qandashe, Mvumeza Trading was introduced to construct the 3-kilometer Khutshi to Voting Station Access Road.

Ward 32’s gathering at Sibonda in Zinya saw the introduction of Eyethu Projects and Plant Hire, responsible for the 3.4-kilometer Ndlavini Access Road.

All road projects are expected to be completed within six months, providing temporary employment opportunities in the respective areas.
