European premium e-mountain bike manufacturer NOX CYCLES has officially expanded into South Africa through a strategic partnership with AMC GROUP, the Eastern Cape’s largest motorcycle dealer. The move marks the company’s entry into the African market and aims to meet the country’s growing demand for high-performance, eco-friendly bicycles.

The partnership will see NOX CYCLES operate from Port Elizabeth, where the AMC GROUP will act as its local hub, facilitating access to a market known for its strong cycling culture and challenging terrain. South Africa’s reputation as a cycling destination, with globally recognised races such as the Cape Epic, makes it a key location for NOX’s expansion strategy.

“South Africa’s enthusiasm for cycling is truly inspiring, and we are excited to bring our cutting-edge e-mountain bikes to a market that values both the thrill of sport and the benefits of sustainable transportation,” said Matt Spechtler, CEO of NOX CYCLES South Africa.

Brenton von Waltsleben, Principal Dealer of AMC GROUP, welcomed the partnership, calling it an important addition to their portfolio. “It is a pleasure and honour to expand our offering with NOX’s high-performance e-mountain bikes, and we look forward to a wonderful collaboration,” he said.

NOX CYCLES is known for its commitment to craftsmanship and innovation. All bikes are handmade in Austria and feature advanced battery and electric drive systems from the BMZ Group. The brand has earned a strong following in Europe and hopes to replicate that success in the South African market.

By establishing a local presence, NOX and AMC GROUP intend to offer tailored services that respond to the unique conditions and preferences of South African riders. The company’s presence is also expected to contribute to the broader movement toward sustainable, electric-powered transport.
