- Official Handover of Infrastructure Projects by Mayor Mafumbatha: On 02 September 2025, Mayor T.D. Mafumbatha officially handed over two major community infrastructure projects in Ward 10 and Ward 2, signifying ongoing efforts to improve local facilities.
- Resurfacing of Ntlenzi to Mcetheni Access Road: The completed resurfacing project, carried out by Vuyie Xolie Construction, aims to enhance accessibility and road safety for residents who depend on this route daily.
- Eyethu Project and Mqhokweni to Nokhatshile Road Rehabilitation: The initiatives include rehabilitating key access roads and constructing a new low-level crossing, which are designed to improve connectivity and support community development.
The Honourable Mayor T.D. Mafumbatha, on 02 September 2025, officially handed over two important infrastructure projects to communities in Ward 10 and Ward 2.
The programme started at PJ. Mhlanti, where the Mayor presented the completed resurfacing of the Ntlenzi to Mcetheni Access Road. The work was carried out by Vuyie Xolie Construction and is expected to improve accessibility and road safety for residents who rely on this route daily.
From there, the Mayor moved to Mqhokweni SPS in Ward 2 to hand over another milestone the Eyethu Project and Plant Hire initiative. This includes the rehabilitation of the Mqhokweni to Nokhatshile Access Road and the development of a new low-level crossing, which will improve connectivity for surrounding communities.
Mayor Mafumbatha outlined the municipality’s ongoing efforts to deliver meaningful change through infrastructure. She said the projects are part of a broader commitment to improve mobility, support social progress, and unlock opportunities for local economic growth.
“These projects reflect our dedication to building better communities through sustainable infrastructure. By investing in road rehabilitation and access improvements, we are not only improving mobility but also laying a foundation for social and economic development,” said Mafumbatha.
The municipality assured residents that similar developments will continue to reach more areas, ensuring that quality infrastructure benefits all.
