The KwaZulu-Natal Government Communication and Information System (GCIS), in partnership with Harry Gwala District and Greater Kokstad Municipalities, hosted a G20 Stakeholders Dialogue at Esayidi TVET College in Kokstad.

The event aimed to raise awareness of South Africa’s role in the upcoming G20 Summit and gather input from community stakeholders to help shape national priorities under the theme “Solidarity, Equality and Sustainability.”

Leaders present included Harry Gwala District Mayor Zamo Nxumalo, Greater Kokstad Mayor L. Madikizela, District Deputy Mayor T. Jojozi, and traditional leader Inkosi Fodo of uMzimkhulu. Their presence highlighted a shared commitment to open dialogue and inclusive leadership.

The discussion focused on development, youth involvement, and responsive governance. Community voices, especially those of young people, were encouraged to contribute ideas that could be considered in South Africa’s G20 submission later this year.

Organisers described the event as part of a broader effort to build a nation that works for everyone by ensuring grassroots participation in policy planning and international representation.
