The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government has refuted claims that it paid R50 million for the funeral of late Big Nuz member, Mandlenkosi ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo.

According to the KwaZulu-Natal Government the support it provided to the family is as follows:

Office of the Premier – R170 000

Department of Sport, Arts and Culture – R50 000

eThekwini Municipality – R 100 000

“The falsehood being peddled about R50 million is nothing more than a figment of imagination by those who are morally and spiritually bankrupt,” it said.

As previously reported, the KZN Office of the Premier had planned to assist the Maphumulo family with 50% of the funeral costs.
