Bandile Skhosana, a second-year Civil Engineering student at Walter Sisulu University (WSU), is on a determined path to achieve his academic and professional dreams. Hailing from the small town of Harding, KwaZulu-Natal, Bandile has been captivated by engineering since childhood.
“I grew up watching construction projects in my hometown, always wondering how such magnificent structures were built,” Bandile shares. “That curiosity sparked my passion for Civil Engineering. I knew from an early age that I wanted to contribute to building a better future for my community.”
At WSU, Bandile is fully engaged in his Civil Engineering studies, excelling both in academics and extracurricular activities. “The program is rigorous, but my desire to learn and grow keeps me motivated,” he explains.
Despite knowing the challenges ahead, Bandile remains steadfast. “I understand there will be obstacles, but I’ve adopted a growth mindset. I’m not afraid to seek guidance from lecturers, peers, and mentors, and I’ll stay focused on my goals.”
