On 25 November 2025, municipal officials continued with Day 2 of the Fraud Awareness and Ethical Leadership Workshop. The session focused on the Code of Conduct for both employees and councillors. Leaders stressed the link between ethical behaviour and stronger service delivery.
What Happened
The workshop centred on clear expectations for integrity, dignity, and fairness in the workplace. Facilitators explained how the Code of Conduct guides daily decisions and improves teamwork.
In addition, officials highlighted that consistent ethical behaviour strengthens trust and enhances service delivery across all departments. Participants engaged in short discussions about real-world challenges and solutions.
Official Response
MMC Mdledle closed the session with a strong call for accountability.
“We must put the public first,” she said. “Fighting fraud and corruption ensures smoother services for our communities.”
She encouraged staff to remain vigilant, follow procedures, and report unethical conduct without fear.
Community Impact
The workshop aims to reduce fraud risks and improve service reliability. As a result, residents may benefit from quicker responses and cleaner governance. Municipal leaders say more training sessions will follow to deepen awareness and support long-term culture change.
