The multidisciplinary operation, involving the police, Metro Police, Correctional Services, Home Affairs, and other law enforcement agencies, targeted hijacked buildings in and around the Durban CBD. Six buildings were raided, including a municipality-owned building that was illegally occupied. A person allegedly collecting rent money from illegal residents of the building was taken in for questioning.

The operation yielded significant recoveries, including 117 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, a large amount of liquor, and drugs. Two of the hijacked buildings were disconnected from water and electricity, which had been connected illegally. One suspect was arrested after being found in possession of cocaine, crystal meth, and an undisclosed amount of money.

The operation is seen as a significant step towards reclaiming the Durban CBD from criminal elements and reasserting state authority.
