A young farmer from Thohoyandou, Limpopo, expanded his agribusiness after receiving support from the National Youth Development Agency(NYDA) Grant Programme. Andani Masibigiri, founder of Andiey Trading Enterprises, focused on growing green beans, tomatoes, cabbage, maize, green pepper, and mustard. His produce supplied major markets such as Freshling RSA, Polokwane, Tshwane, Johannesburg, and Spar.
Youth Empowerment and Skills Development
Andiey Trading Enterprises created jobs and training opportunities for local youth. The team included one full-time employee, three N6 Farming Management interns, and ten Diploma graduates. This approach showed Masibigiri’s commitment to youth empowerment and practical agricultural training.
How NYDA Support Helped
The NYDA Thulamela Branch provided drip irrigation, borehole drilling, fertilizer, pesticides, and protective nets. This support improved production efficiency, boosted crop quality, and expanded the enterprise’s market reach. Masibigiri said the assistance helped him strengthen a sustainable farming business while uplifting young people.
