The African Christian Democratic Party – ACDP Johannesburg Caucus is saddened by the fire incident which has so far claimed the lives of 64 individuals and is verified to be the deadliest building fire in Johannesburg’s history.
We send our heartfelt condolences to the affected families and wish a speedy recovery to the numerous individuals currently receiving medical treatment.
The ACDP Caucus believes that the poor state of buildings and the lack of infrastructure maintenance are a recipe for disaster. The Councillors of the Johannesburg Metropolitan Council must put their political ideologies and philosophies aside, and focus on real service delivery, especially the maintenance of infrastructure.

The Disaster Management Team is on the ground clearing the way and providing assistance and relief where possible.
