Khiwa’s digital media foundation gave back to the community when they donated, uniform, school shoes , blankets and food parcels to needy families and pupils of Noncamba secondary school on Tuesday.
Bulelani Mancotywa, who is the founder of Khiwa media’s foundation, said he started this initiative in 2020 when he hosts annual tournament sports games in Nomcamba, Ngqeleni. Each year leading up to the day of the tournament he assists the underprivileged by seeking assistance and donating school shoes and uniform to the needy children as part of the build up to the tournament that will be held on 24-25 September 2022.
“As someone who understands and who has experienced the challenges of growing up in an disadvantaged home, I wanted to find a way to help my community and I saw the importance of having the appropriate school uniform because it helps to facilitate a sense of belonging , pride and self esteem around other pupils,”
So far this year the Khiwa’s media has donated school shoes , uniform and sanitary towels to DZ Dumezweni Senior Secondary school and Nomcamba Junior secondary school and they plan to donate food parcels to 50 families , with the help of these sponsors; Spur, Vodacom, Big8 sport Tournament, Rural Boy Security Services, Pata Attorneys, Universal Sounds , Eyethu Butchery Ngqeleni , N.L.M Mthatha Wig Bar.
The next part of the build up towards the tournament will held at Sandi secondary school on the 20th September 2022, 11:00 am.
