Technology has forcefully taken over the world introducing the digital world into our daily lives. However, in order to join these online spaces, you need an electronic device. The question is what happens when you don’t own one?
Well, Digify Africa has introduced programs such as Digify Bytes that provide all sorts of training and classes to teach individuals how to use digital spaces. You do not have to worry about any resources because that is provided too.
What is Digify Bytes? Digify Bytes is a nationwide program provided by Digify Africa that is ran across all provinces. Digify Bytes was launched in February 2022 across the nation where research was also conducted during this time to gage the level of digital literacy in the different provinces.
This program is currently taking place in different municipalities where hubs are located in these regions training young people across the different regions with digital skills. The main aim for these programs and digital hubs is to break the digital divide not only in South Africa but across the continent.
Digify Africa has partnered with three hubs in Eastern Cape running the program. Despite the challenges in the Eastern Cape where network and connection to the internet is concerned Digify Africa partnered with digital hubs for people to utilize and join the programs such as Digify Bytes.
Digify Bytes provides the foundational digital skills to help young people understand that your smartphone can be used for multiple purposes and not only for calls, social media and messages.
More about the program:
The program runs through as a two- day masterclass where trainees/ beneficiaries are trained on how to connect on the digital world, how to avoid scams online and what online safety.
