It has been a fruitful week for Kokstad schools following the GBV campaigns that aim to give courage to young girls to speak out. This week, a book author and a GBV activist Zisanda Nxokweni visited Mount Carrier Senior School and Kokstad Public Primary School where she had an opportunity to enlighten pupils about rape and its danger of not seeking help as soon as possible.
August month is a special month for women, therefore, I want to play a huge role in encouraging young girls to stand up for themselves against any kind of abuse they might be facing or going through, been a privilege to speak to pupils from these two schools. – said Nxokweni

Nxokweni further says after her speech with pupils she was notified that the are a couple of cases related to rape also other parents have since contacted her for further assistance in this regard.
I was raped three times when I was young by the people who I trusted so much and i kept quiet about it hence I could not allow another kid to go through what I went through because of fear. – said Nxokweni
Kokstad Public Primary School principal Siphesihle Mkhize vows words of appreciation and gratitude to Zisanda Nxokweni.
“Hearing her story moved me and I can tell that lot of teachers were so overwhelmed even pupils, we are happy that she chose to visit our school and I wish more schools can get such campaigns because I believe many pupils would be saved,” said Mkhize
