Maletswai SAPS Members continue with their efforts to curb the proliferation of illegal firearms.  An intelligence-driven operation led to the recovery of three stolen firearms from a house in Maletswai on Thursday last week.

On Saturday evening, 7 January 2022, an intelligence information was operationalized, and members pounced on a house in Vula Vala, Maletswai.

Police recovered three firearms (a revolver and two hunting rifles), which were stashed  in different areas  inside the house.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the three firearms were stolen during a burglary from a farm in Maletswai on Thursday, 5 January 2023, where firearms, jewellery and laptops were stolen.  The investigation is continuing, and the  arrest of the suspects is imminent.

The District Commissioner Maj Gen Lindelwa Vellem commended members for the good work.
