A tragic multi-vehicle collision on the R61 near the Wild Coast Sun claimed the lives of three people on Saturday, with several others sustaining serious injuries.

The crash, which involved four vehicles, occurred on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, just outside Port Edward. According to initial reports from KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service, paramedics arrived on the scene to find a chaotic and heartbreaking scene.

One patient was found in critical condition, while three others had sustained serious injuries. Emergency teams provided immediate medical assistance and transported the injured to nearby hospitals once they were stabilized.

Tragically, three occupants were declared dead at the scene, while a fourth victim later succumbed to injuries despite efforts by Med-E-Vac paramedics, who also responded to the call.
