Actress Brenda Ngxoli has expressed heartfelt appreciation to her supporters after receiving an overwhelming show of solidarity following a widely circulated video featuring a dispute between her and her mother.

The footage, which Brenda posted on social media, captured a heated verbal exchange while she held her baby. In the video, her mother accused her of physical abuse, a claim Brenda strongly denied. The incident drew widespread public attention, with many rallying behind the award-winning actress.

In response to the situation, social media influencer Mandisi Tshingana launched a fundraising initiative to assist Brenda. The campaign has successfully raised over R100,000, with R50,000 donated by Ferguson Films and the remaining amount contributed by fans.

Brenda, best known for portraying Vuyo Radebe in SABC1’s Home Affairs, took to social media to express her gratitude. She reflected on the phrase “proof of life,” saying it had taken on a deeper significance for her.

“You did something I never expected. You showed me love and listened to me. I received calls from people I don’t even know,” she said in an emotional video message.

“I thank God, and I thank you all so much. It was never my intention to share this journey—I thought it was something I would take to the grave. But I guess all wounds eventually come to light.

“I never asked for money, but God knew I needed it. I won’t lie—I was sitting and wondering about my next step, but you all came through. God works in mysterious ways, and I just want to thank every one of you for reminding me that I am a worthy human being.”

Brenda also extended her gratitude to Mandisi, encouraging him to continue his generosity and support for others in need.
