Tea and perfume pairing, Saturday, 20 November 2021
You have heard of taste pairings with cheese and wine or champagne and caviar for sophisticated palates, but have you heard of pairing fragrances with a high tea?
Wild Coast Sun has joined up with Fragrance Queen, Liz Ferrett, to take guests attending the next High Tea through a unique fragrance journey.
Perfumes are categorised on the fragrance wheel as Floral, Oriental, Woody, and Fresh, and be the perfect accompaniment to a variety of delicious cakes and treats.
According to the Ferrett, teas and cakes that pair well to the fragrance wheel are vanilla desserts with Floral, carrot cake with Oriental, chocolate slice topped with frosting/ chocolate Eclairs with Woody, and citrus cupcakes/ orange and cream cheese frosting cakes with Fresh.
While guests tuck into the delicious eats, taking in the aroma of their hot brews, Liz will heighten one’s sense of smell with her decades of experience and expertise on the subject.
“Don’t choose a scent that smells good on a friend as it won’t smell the same on you,” she advises.
Guests will be schooled on the art of choosing the best fragrance for one’s own skin, how best to apply (spritz) perfume, how to store their collection, seasonal trends, and what perfumes to wear if one has sinus.
And the fun does not stop here.
Guests will also get a makeover by Dischem make-up artists and receive their very own sample set of six 2ml perfumes to take home.
