Eastern Cape matriculants who wrote the 2025 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations will be able to access their results through several official channels once they are released in January 2026, the Department of Basic Education has confirmed.

When Will Matric Results Be Released?
The 2025 matric results will be released nationally on 12 January 2026, following quality assurance and approval by Umalusi.

Where Can Learners Check Matric Results?
1. At Schools (Official and Required)
- Results are released at schools where learners wrote their exams
- This is the only place to collect an official Statement of Results
- Schools also assist with:

- Re-check and re-mark applications
- Advice on next steps
This remains the most reliable method.
2. Online via Official Government Platforms
Learners can also check results online using their exam number or ID number.

3. Via SMS

4. Newspapers in the Eastern Cape
In the Eastern Cape, matric results are traditionally published in selected newspapers, most notably the Daily Dispatch.
- Results are published using examination numbers, not names
- Newspapers are available on the morning of release day
- This option is often used by learners without internet access
