On the 1st of October 2025, the OR Tambo Stock Theft Prevention Task Team, supported by Qumbu Vispol members, arrested two men aged 20 and 23 in Blackhill locality, Qumbu. The pair were found in possession of suspected stolen cattle and goats following an intelligence-driven operation.
What Happened
Acting on information, police pounced on the suspects at a homestead in Blackhill where three cattle and goats were being kept. Preliminary investigations linked the livestock to theft cases reported at Sithaleni and Cokomfeni localities.
The three cattle were identified as part of five stolen from a Sithaleni grazing camp, while further leads directed police to goats stolen at Cokomfeni. The rightful owner positively identified two of his five goats, confirming them as stolen property.
Police continue to trace the remaining two cows and three goats still missing.
