Four men have been arrested in Durban following the reported kidnapping of a 38-year-old man from Paddock.
The arrests were made on Monday, 2 March 2026, after a family in Paddock reported the kidnapping to police the previous day.
What happened?
According to police, the family reported the 38-year-old victim missing on Sunday, 1 March 2026.
Members of the Counter Narcotics Unit and the Provincial Organised Crime Threat Desk received information that the suspects were inside a retail shop on St George’s Street in Durban.
They requested assistance from Durban Central Crime Prevention officers who were nearby. Officers then moved in and arrested three suspects before they could leave the area.
Police searched the suspects’ vehicle and recovered two of the victim’s bank cards and a cellphone SIM card.
Further investigation led officers to Mayville, where they found the victim alive. A fourth suspect was arrested at that location.
The suspects, aged between 21 and 38, were detained and charged with kidnapping.
