Bulelani Mhlelembana is a young farmer from Amadiba, Bizana and is passionate about farming from a very young age. Mhlelembana started farming in 2011 when he was still in high school. He says he took a look at the high rate of unemployment and thought that he can devise means to make a living. He believes that farming plays a vital role in this country’s economy and job opportunities.
“Farming is very essential in economic development as we all know that our economy is unbelievably deteriorating” Said Mhlelembana.
He added that he does not regret a single day as his company grows to be a bigger business, emphasizing that he aspires to be one of the well-known farmers who create job opportunities for the communities.
Bhukwani farming was not formed overnight as Mhlelembana worked tirelessly, overcoming many hurdles and obstacles that meant to stand in his way of success.
“It was not easy at all at first because I was financially challenged. Starting a business of any kind with no support can be so hard but I managed” He says, adding that he met experienced small scale farmers who then advised him to stay strong.
His products can be found in local shops in Bizana.
