Beauty Pageant Model Lulutho wants to be remembered as someone who was proud of herself and who wanted to inspire young girls to follow their dreams.

Miss Schools Eastern Cape finalist Lulutho Mngenela (17), hails from Bizana in an area known as Ludeke. Lulutho is someone who is constantly evolving, outspoken and bold. She’s also an activist for human rights and for women and children empowerment. Her modeling journey started in 2020 when she entered for Miss Festive Bizana, after being inspired by Zozibini Tunzi Miss South Africa 2019, as she spoke about wanting young girls to start taking up space. “That’s when I got my courage and I also wanted the youth of Bizana to reflect their faces in mine and I believed that will only happen through modeling,” she explains. She’s currently participating in Miss Schools Eastern Cape a provincial pageant where she will be representing Marelane Senior Secondary School in Queenstown on 11th December 2021.

“The challenges I have come across is raising donations that are required in the pageants as one task the tasks we ought to do, it’s a struggle because some people in the community don’t understand why am I doing this, so lack of support from my community is one of the biggest challenges,” she says.

“I want Lulutho to be remembered as a person who was proud of herself, who was the voice of the voiceless, and who wanted to inspire young girls to follow their dreams because I am a sole believer that the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams,” she concludes.
