Tickets for the much-anticipated 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier between Bafana Bafana and Uganda have officially gone on sale. The match is set to take place on Friday, 06 September 2024, at the iconic Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg, with kickoff scheduled for 18h00.
The South African Football Association (SAFA) CEO, Lydia Monyepao, confirmed the details of the match to SAFA’s official website, expressing excitement about the upcoming fixture. SAFA President, Dr. Danny Jordaan, also called on fans to show their support for the national team in the same enthusiastic manner they have displayed in recent months.
“Ticket sales are now open, please come out in numbers and make it count in the stands. We want to continue the momentum and the amazing scenes we saw in Bloemfontein when Bafana Bafana faced Zimbabwe in June. We want to see the same at Orlando Stadium,” urged Dr. Jordaan.
Gates for the match will open at 15h00, with tickets priced at R30 for children, scholars, and students, R60 for adults, and R140 for a family package (2 adults + 2 children). Tickets can be purchased at TicketPro outlets and various retail locations, including Spar supermarkets, SASOL, ENGEN, SHELL, PowerFashion, and JAM Clothing stores.
Following the clash with Uganda, Bafana Bafana will head to South Sudan for their second group stage match on Tuesday, 10 September 2024. Coach Hugo Broos’ team finds themselves in Group K, where they will battle Uganda, Congo, and South Sudan for a spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament, set to be hosted in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
