Alfred Nzo Cultural History Museum Encourages Communities to Preserve Heritage

The Alfred Nzo Cultural History Museum in EmaXesibeni became a hub of cultural dialogue this week as the Department of Sports, Recreation, Arts & Culture partnered with the museum to host a Heritage Resource Management workshop.

The workshop drew traditional leaders, local municipality representatives, and learners from across the Alfred Nzo District. Attendees explored the value of cultural heritage and how communities can work together to protect and manage these resources for future generations.

Deputy Director of Cultural Affairs Dr Celebration Ntungwa highlighted the need for community-led heritage preservation:

“It’s vital that communities understand their role in preserving and protecting cultural heritage for future generations,” Ntungwa said.

Acting Museum Manager Mr. Sakhumzi Dlova called on stakeholders to support the growth of the museum by contributing heritage products and participating in marketing efforts.
