A 45 year old man arrested for molesting a 13 year old boy in Libode in the eastern cape

A family in Libode, Eastern Cape, has been shattered by the alleged rape of a 13-year-old child. The youngster allegedly saw the accused while walking home from a soccer game, and the accused drove him to his home. The youngster reportedly experienced sexual assault overnight at the home of the perpetrator before escaping in the morning. The kid’s family claims that a teacher at the boy’s school saw that he couldn’t walk properly as a result, the teacher sent the boy home and informed them. The boy’s family asked him what was wrong but he refused to talk they then checked his genitals, it was then fond that his genitals were swollen.

According to the boy’s aunt, a doctor who examined him verified the crime. “At first, the boy said he was afraid to tell us what had occurred, but finally he came clean and said he had been raped. He said that after being abducted on his way home from a soccer game in the afternoon, he was kept locked up all night. The suspect anally raped him before masturbating on him.

The tragedy has shaken the community, they now urge that the government take steps to ensure that the perpetrator is not granted bail because he has proven his risk to society. They want the young boy to receive justice. “We’ve been protesting the rape of women, but now they also rape men. For us, this is new. We are unsure of what to do with the boy and concerned that the suspect might be released from jail and harass the boy .

For the alleged incident, a 45 year old suspect has been taken into custody. According to Tembinkosi Kinana, a spokesman for the police, the suspect will shortly make a quick appearance in court. According to Kinana, a suspect was found and immediately arrested by the FCS unit; he is scheduled to appear in Libode Magistrate’s Court on Monday on allegations of rape. The youngster and his family have received counselling from the Department of Social Development.
